Last year, Democrats passed SB 2111, a $1.5 billion public transit funding and reform package that created the Northern Illinois Transit Authority and took vital funding from downstate road and bridge projects in an effort to save Chicago's mismanaged system.

I voted no on this measure because the rest of the state should not pay for the Chicago's failures.

The Northern Illinois Transit Authority is now officially in charge of Chicagoland buses and trains, but the $1.5 billion transit spending and reform plan left downstate lawmakers and taxpayers concerned.

In Democrats' desperate attempt to grab more money from Illinois residents, they passed legally questionable new tax measures knowing they would lead to costly lawsuits.

Now, the cracks in Democrats' plan are showing as similar tax laws are struck down in other states.

The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking to grow their team! They will be in Belleville on Tuesday, November 10th for Corrections Officer and Corrections Treatment Officer Screening.

After students and parents struggled with enrollment issues due to computer complications, I believe the problem is quickly being resolved.

Parents said their children were enrolled in the Cahokia Heights School District and ready to start class on Aug. 17, but the district told them a computer problem kicked them out of the system.
