Ever wonder “What’s in it for me?” when it comes to civic volunteerism?

Well, yesterday the Fredon Volunteer Fire Company got the best answer possible… a whole bunch of tiny humans in Fredon Township School Pre‑K splashing through puddles like it was their full‑time job.

We brought the water, they brought the giggles. Their smiles were priceless… and soaking the teachers? Let’s just say that checked the “mischief” box on our mission statement.

If you’ve got a civic‑minded spark (or just enjoy good fun for a good cause), we’re looking for volunteers for both Fire and EMS roles. Chat with any member for details.

While today marks the beginning of summer for many, Memorial Day is first and foremost a day of remembrance.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and our freedoms. Their courage and selflessness are the reason we are able to do what we do each and every day.

We may not know them all, but we owe them all. 🇺🇸

We had a great time participating in this drill hosted by Andover Township Volunteer Fire Department last night. Thank you for the invite and opportunity to train alongside some of our mutual aid agencies!

If you're driving through Newton today and see fire trucks and ambulances at the old KFC, have no fear! We're using the vacant building for some training opportunities for our departments to practice our skills so we can stay ready when the next call comes in! 🔥 🚒 🚑

❄️🔥 Winter Storm Safety from FVFC 🔥❄️

With the possibility of a major snowstorm upon us, we want to remind everyone to take a few extra steps to keep your family and home safe:

Chimney, Fireplace & Heat Safety
• Dispose of ashes in a metal container, away from your home
• Keep space heaters at least 3 feet from anything combustible

Winter Storm Safety Tips
• Stay indoors during severe weather when possible
• Keep emergency supplies on hand (flashlight, batteries, blankets, food, water)
• Check on elderly neighbors and those who may need assistance
• Use caution when shoveling snow — take breaks and avoid overexertion

Generator Safety
• Only use generators outdoors and far from windows, doors, and vents
• Never run a generator in your home, garage, or basement
• Use heavy-duty extension cords rated for outdoor use

A little preparation can go a long way in preventing emergencies. Stay warm, stay safe, and don’t hesitate to call 911 if you need help.

Tonight we would like to congratulate our member Noah Custode on his successful completion of fire school and becoming our newest firefighter!

Congratulations to all of the graduates on your amazing achievements!

We celebrated Noah, and Hannah who graduated last month from Morris County training academy, with our members and the graduates families back at the firehouse with some cake to finish the night off!

We look forward to working alongside both of you on the fireground! Stay safe and here's to the next chapters in your fire careers.
