On March 1st, 1986 Mr. Mister’s hit song "Kyrie" reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, gas prices were between $0.90 - $1.15 per gallon, and there were about 192 people who called Frederika home. One of those people was a guy named Kevin Fisher.
Fisher began serving on the Frederika Fire Department in 1986, serving in various roles including secretary and even took his turn as Fire Chief through the years leading up to his retirement tonight.
For 40 years, Fisher has dedicated his time, talents and efforts to the community he calls home.
At our meeting tonight, Fisher officially retired from active duty on Frederika Fire Department and we would like to send our appreciation to Kevin and his family for the last 40 years.

Thanks Fisher!

A Friendly Reminder on a Friday.

Please do not park in front of any of the 5 fire station doors, it creates a situation where emergency equipment is not able to leave the fire station. In an emergency, seconds matter and having a clear path for the fire trucks to leave from the station in both directions is paramount.
We have replaced damaged and missing signs to help remind everyone.

Thanks for the cooperation.

Frederika Fire #225

07/18/2025

Frederika Fire is stoked to announce the addition of our new rescue truck #225.

225 is equipped with our vehicle extrication, cribbing, ropes, harness, rescue tools, and grain bin rescue equipment. It also has an on-board water tank and pump. This truck will be first out of the station for all vehicle accidents, vehicle fires, and grain bin rescue emergencies. It will be a back up roll for all building fires and grass/field fires.

225 has been equipped for 2 firefighters to make a quick attack by carrying a majority of the equipment that was previously stored on multiple fire trucks and in the fire station. This provides a rapid and easy deployment of all rescue equipment needed, saving valuable time.

We would like to thank our Rural Fire Board for providing the funding to purchase the truck.

We would like to thank our community for providing fundraising dollars to help fully equip the new truck.

We would like to thank On Track Signs for putting down the awesome decal work!

We would like to thank the Bremer County Community Foundation for awarding us a $10,000 grant to help purchase the truck and additional equipment.

We are excited to grow our capabilities with this new truck!

The end of an era at Frederika Fire. From 1998 until today, tanker 216 has served this community on structure fires, vehicle accidents and proudly wore our community name on its doors for numerous parades.
Today, 216 was retired to its new home in central Minnesota where it's new job will be to keep a horse arena well watered. It's new owner was thrilled to come pick it up today.
Enjoy retirement 216, you have earned it.

Stay tuned as we continue the search for our new "216" mini rescue/quick attack truck!

NEW GEAR DAY IN FREDERIKA!
It's like the new car smell feeling, but at least 10 times better!

Special thanks to the Bremer County Community Foundation for providing funding dollars through the grant we were awarded in 2024, without those dollars these two firefighters would still be wearing outdated and improperly fitting turnout gear! These firefighters are now safer because of the awarded grant!

Happy Birthday to Ted today! Thanks for all you do for our community!
