Fredericktown EMS

Fredericktown EMS Welcome to the home page for Fredericktown EMS.

Our site is designed as both an informative and educational portal for squad members, citizens, and other departments alike to benefit. We have a 2010 Horton ambulance and a 2015 Braun ambulance, as well as a equipped Chevy Tahoe. We also have equipped a John Deere Gator to be used as an alternate response vehicle for off- road emergencies and special events. We also have a trailer that we have wo

rked with multiple organizations for use in the case if disasters when additional resources and shelter is needed. With these vehicles we serve the northwestern portion of Knox County, Ohio which includes the Village of Fredericktown, as well as Berlin, Middlebury, Wayne, Pike, and a portion of Morris Townships. The population we provide our services to has grown to over 8,700 residents expanding throughout our rural community. Our Station, based in the Village of Fredericktown, operates two Advanced Life Support ambulances. Both of these ambulances are equipped with some of the latest life saving technology, which can range from cardiac and pulmonary care to trauma treatment and injury management. Our station is staffed 24/7/365 by one crew and then additional runs and manpower are covered by volunteers. In 2016, our members handled over 900 calls for service, which is over a 12 percent increase from 2015.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to our Open House this past Saturday! Despite the rain, we had a great turnout and loved seeing so many members of our community stop by. We made a lot of signs and even took orders for many more!

We hope everyone left with a little more knowledge than they had coming in, and enjoyed spending time with others in the community.

Thank you again for your continued support. We look forward to hosting many more Open Houses in the future!

Open House is this Saturday.

Before you head out, here are a few important updates about parking and traffic that may affect your commute.

The Open House will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and to help accommodate parking and visitors, the southbound lane of Columbus Rd will be closed for event parking.

This closure will affect Columbus Rd between Mohican/Shawnee Dr and Elizabeth St. (marked in red).

If you are not planning to attend the Open House, we kindly ask that you use an alternate route if possible.

Handicap Parking (marked in blue) will be available on the north side of the Fire and EMS Department, using the right driveway. We will have plenty of department members available to assist anyone who may need help.

We are excited to welcome everyone and hope for a great turnout. Please let us know if you have any questions, and we look forward to seeing you Saturday.

Fredericktown EMS is proud to announce that two of our members; Lieutenant Nathan Gerhart and EMT Haley Rook were awarded a Star Of Life award through the State of Ohio EMS.

Nate and Haley were called to service late last year on a grain bin rescue in Troy Township, one of our partnering departments. The patient was trapped inside the corn inside the grain bin for an extended period of time.

In conjunction with many other departments, Nate and Haley were able to help free the patient as well as treat and transport him to Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.

Please help us Congratulate both Nate and Haley.

Working with our neighboring departments takes lots of training and patience. We are so proud of how well our team worked along side many other departments to provide the very best outcome.

We know a lot of places are hiring right now, but Fredericktown EMS would like to make a compelling argument for you to come work with us!

Now Hiring : Part-Time Paramedics
Because apparently the ambulances don't drive themselves.

Fredericktown EMS is looking for part-time paramedics who can handle controlled chaos, think fast, stay calm, and somehow still function on gas station coffee and questionable sleep schedules.

Requirements include:
- Ability lift patients, equipment, and occasionally the spirits of your coworkers.
- Must thrive in unpredictable situations.
- Strong teamwork skills, because nobody survives EMS alone.
- Ability to smile through ESO reports, radio tones, and that one alarm that always goes off at the worst time.
- Sense of humor highly encouraged, possibly required.

What we offer:
- A team that works hard and laughs harder.
- Competitive pay.
- A community that truly values its EMS providers
- The chance to make a real difference, every shift.
- Unlimited stories you probably cannot tell at family dinner.

If you are a paramedic looking for meaningful work, a great crew, and a little bit of organized chaos, we would love to hear from you.

Come join Fredericktown EMS
The coffee is decent, the calls are unpredictable, and the people are worth it.

We have a line of strong storms headed for Knox County. Please be weather aware.

On Saturday 5/23 Fredericktown EMS will be offering address signs for $20 each. We can make them on the spot.

Reflective address signs help our EMS and the Fire Department find your house in case of an emergency. When tensions are high, and minutes matter, we would love not having to search for your residence.

Come to the Open House from 10-1 on 5/23 and pick one up!

This EMS Week, we want to recognize the dedicated men and women of Fredericktown EMS who are always ready to answer the call, day or night, when our community needs help.

Behind every emergency response are long hours, ongoing training, and time spent away from family, all to serve others. Whether career staff or volunteers, our team shows up with compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to caring for our community on some of its hardest days.

To our EMS family, thank you for your hard work, sacrifice, and the care you give every single day. We are proud to serve beside you.

To our community, thank you for your continued trust and support. It is an honor to care for you.

Happy EMS Week from all of us at Fredericktown EMS.
