Tonight, Mental Health America of Fredericksburg is joining the community in honoring the life of Stephanie Myers.

Domestic is not rare, it’s not a distant problem, and there is never an excuse. It impacts over 12 million people each year; 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men will experience violence enacted from an intimate partner.

Tonight, gather with us to remember those who we’ve lost. Honor the courage of survivors. Find resources, share stories, eliminate stigma. Ask for help.

May this vigil be a moment of remembrance, but also a call to action: to listen, to support, and to speak out. Because no one should have to live in fear, and no one should have to endure silence alone.

Men’s mental health is just as important as physical health, yet it’s often overlooked or stigmatized. Many men feel pressure to “stay strong” or avoid showing vulnerability, which can lead to bottled-up emotions, stress, anxiety, and even depression. Speaking openly about mental health helps break this cycle, encourages support, and reminds men they’re not alone. Prioritizing mental well-being leads to healthier relationships, better decision-making, and an overall improved quality of life.

The MHAfred team prides ourselves in making resources accessible for every community, demographic, and gender. If you need help - we're just one phone call away.
