A big thanks to Kaufman Realty and Auctions for providing us with a delicious dinner last night! It was our monthly meeting and truck check night, and this was definitely a highlight of the evening!

We want to thank Salt Creek Coffee Co. as well, who generously gifted us one of the most important things that firefighters and EMS personnel need, coffee!☕️

We appreciate your support of our department and the community that we serve!

A huge thanks to The Boy Scouts Troop 66 of Wooster, who volunteered their time to come clean up around the dry hydrants in our district. Not only does it look much cleaner, it will also make them more accessible. We appreciate their hard work!

In times like these, we are reminded that first responders are one family. We stand beside you, keeping everyone affected in our thoughts and praying for strength, healing, comfort, and peace.

☀️Heat Advisory: Please Take the Heat Seriously☀️

💧Drink Plenty of water throughout the day.
🌳Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
👕Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing.

🤝Please take a moment to check on elderly neighbors, friends, and family members - especially those who may not have air conditioning or who spend time outdoors.

Our firefighters and EMS personnel are here when you need us, but we hope these simple precautions help everyone stay healthy and safe during this period of extreme heat.

💧FREE COLD water bottles will be available at our station today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) from 2-4.💧

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and look out for one another.❤️

The 4th of July is right around the corner, and we can't wait for the Largest Small Town Parade!

It's one of those special days when our community comes together, catches up with neighbors, waves to friends along the route, and celebrates what makes our town such a great place to call home.

Parade starts at 11am Line up begins at 9. No registration required

After the parade, stick around and enjoy everything the day has to offer, including food trucks, BBQ chicken, softball, live music, and plenty of family-friendly fun.

We hope to see everyone out enjoying the parade and making memories with family and friends. See you on the 4th! 🇺🇸🎆🚒

🚗 VEHICLE SAFETY AWARENESS🚗

This week, South Central Fire District , along with our friends from the Wayne County Sheriff , want to share some important reminders on vehicle safety, and sharing the road with e-bikes.

☑️Keep your distance when passing (at least 3 feet)
☑️Always look before you turn
☑️Adjust your speed
☑️Be cautious going over hills
☑️Always use your turn signals

This post may be focused on e-bikes, but there are many other types of transportation that we share the road with, including motorcycles, horse and buggies, farm equipment, and pedestrians. A lot of the same safety reminders apply to these as well. Whether it is a rural township road, a town street, or a busy county road, remember that your awareness protects lives.
