This September 11, we’re joining to .

Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank is proud to be an official 9/11 Day Program Partner for the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Together with organizations across the country, we’re turning this anniversary into a day of unity, service, and doing good in our communities.

honors the 2,977 lives lost by encouraging people to help others. This year, 9/11 Day is calling on 1 million people to commit to one good deed and bring together 50,000 volunteers to help pack 18 million meals across the country.

Here at FRFB, we’ll be doing our part on September 11 from 9–11 AM with:
• CSFP Box Packing
• Food Sorting & Boxing
• OrderAhead Packing

It's National Food Bank Day! 🧡

What does a food bank actually do? Behind the scenes, we source, rescue, store, and distribute food, while connecting neighbors to vital resources.

None of this happens alone. Staff, volunteers, donors, farmers, and partners all work together to keep our community fed.

We loved celebrating the success of this year's Strike Out Hunger campaign tonight with Virginia Credit Union and the Fredericksburg Nationals. We are grateful for Virginia Credit Union's $5 donation for every strikeout recorded by Fred Nats pitchers this year and the matching funds from the team.

Together their efforts will help us provide more than 25,000 meals. Way to go Fred Nats and Virginia Credit Union!

September is National Fruits & Veggies Month! 🥕🍎🥦

Fresh produce is more than a nice addition to a grocery cart. It's an important part of a balanced diet, and something every neighbor should have access to.

Throughout the month, we'll be sharing more about fruits and vegetables, ways to use them, and how fresh produce moves through our network. 💚

(P.S - This tomato was grown right here at FRFB in the Rappahannock Education Farm's Annex! 🍅 Shoutout to the Master Gardeners who keep our garden growing!)

September is Hunger Action Month. 🧡

Ending hunger isn't something any one person, organization or program can do alone. It takes all of us playing a part.

Some people volunteer. Some donate. Some speak up for policies that help neighbors access food. Some grow, rescue, pack or distribute food. And some share their experiences to help us build better ways to serve our community.

Throughout September, we'll be sharing some of the many ways you can play your part right here in the Central Rappahannock River Region.
