The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region

The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region We are devoted advocates for the vitality and well-being of the Rappahannock River region.

Our mission is to build a flourishing philanthropic community in Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties and the City of Fredericksburg, Virginia. A community foundation is a vehicle for people of all means to make a lasting difference in the community causes they care about. Our central purpose is to serve the needs and philanthropic aims of donors who wish to better their community, now and in the future. We do this by providing donors with flexible, efficient, and tax-effective ways to ensure their charitable giving achieves the greatest possible impact. Because our region’s civic leaders choose the Community Foundation as the most effective way to actively champion the causes they care about, we are actively growing a vital set of resources that will benefit the Rappahannock River region in perpetuity.

What a great kickoff to this year’s Nonprofit Leadership Workshop Series!

Last week, nonprofit leaders from across our region came together for insightful conversations, practical learning and meaningful discussion as we kicked off this year’s series.

We were also pleased to welcome Alex Vanik of Serve Virginia, who shared more about Serve Virginia’s statewide volunteer hub and its plans to expand its reach, giving attendees valuable insight into new opportunities to connect volunteers with organizations in need.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the kickoff! We’re already looking forward to next month’s workshop on October 8.

Today, we pause to honor and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication and selflessness have helped protect the freedoms we hold dear.

We are grateful for their service and sacrifice, and we remember the families and loved ones who carry their legacy forward.

COMMUNITY EVENT HIGHLIGHT: STEP VA’s 4th Annual Gala - Every Step of the Way
Friday, September 25th | 5:30 PM | The Silk Mill

The 4th Annual STEP VA Fundraising Gala — Every Step of the Way serves as a vital source of support for our inclusive arts programming. This event convenes community leaders, donors, and advocates committed to expanding access to high‑quality arts experiences for individuals with disabilities and their families. Funds raised during the gala directly sustain program operations, accessibility services, and the development of new initiatives that promote artistic growth, independence, and community inclusion. We invite you to join us in advancing STEP VA’s mission and ensuring that every artist has the opportunity to participate fully in the arts.
