September is National Preparedness Month, a great reminder that emergencies and disasters can happen when we least expect them. โ๏ธ๐ฅ๐ช๏ธ
Across Priority Ambulance and our family of companies, our teams know how important it is to have a plan before an emergency happens. A little preparation today can make a big difference when every minute matters.
Here are a few ways to help make sure you and your family are ready:
๐ Make a plan: Know where youโll go, how youโll communicate, and where youโll meet if you become separated.
๐ Build an emergency kit: Include water, nonperishable food, flashlights, batteries, first-aid supplies, necessary medications, chargers, and other essentials.
๐ฑ Stay informed: Know how youโll receive local weather alerts, evacuation notices, and other emergency information.
๐ Know your risks: Learn which disasters are most likely where you live and prepare accordingly, whether thatโs severe storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, wildfires, or extreme temperatures.
๐พ Donโt forget your pets: Include food, water, medications, carriers, and other pet supplies in your emergency plans.
๐ Prepare on the go: Keep basic emergency supplies in your vehicle and try to avoid letting your fuel or battery level get too low.
Preparedness starts before the emergency. Take some time this month to make a plan, check your supplies, and talk with your family about what to do if disaster strikes.
Plan ahead. Stay informed. Be prepared. ๐
