Keeping your student on a regular schedule during the summer can be a challenge — but you don’t have to do it alone! The PTRC has created sample daily schedules to give you ideas and inspiration. These can help your student stay on track and maintain consistent expectations, even while school’s out.

And don’t forget to keep things positive! Celebrate your student’s progress — whether it’s finishing a task or following their routine — with small rewards that make them feel proud and motivated to keep going.

Need a little extra support? Schedule an appointment with the PTRC, and we’ll be happy to share helpful tools, resources, and guidance to make this process smoother for you and your student.

The Stafford County School Special Education Advisory Committee was honored to welcome Dr. Chiquita Seaborne, the Virginia Department of Education's Family Engagement Specialist, for a special training at our recent meeting.

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from her expertise and appreciated the thoughtful, engaging discussion that followed. Together, we explored meaningful ways to better support students with disabilities across the Stafford community.

Thank you, Dr. Seaborn, for sharing your knowledge and helping us continue this important work!

The Special Education Advisory Committee is also seeking new members who are interested in actively participating and supporting this important work. Community involvement is essential as we continue to strengthen services and advocacy for students with disabilities in Stafford County. If you are interested in learning more or getting involved, we would love to hear from you.
