🚌✨ Halfway to Run Day! Let's talk FIELD TRIPS!

Field trips create memories that students carry with them long after elementary school. But bus transportation and venue admission costs add up quickly for families!

That’s why one of the biggest goals of our $18,400 Fun Run is providing a $20 credit per student directly toward grade-level field trip expenses. This keeps field trips accessible and affordable for every single Hornet at Hartwood!

So far we have raised $2,615 towards our goal of $18,4000.

Please keep in mind that this fundraiser also covers the PTA’s operating costs for the year and allows events like Trunk-or-Treat and Bingo Night to happen. Without these funds, we will not be able to hold these events.

Saturday morning plans, sorted! Swing by the Lidl parking lot on Rt 17 this Saturday, September 12th between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM for our Sip & Spirit Fundraiser.

Long weekends are the perfect time to connect with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family friends! Sharing your student's Fun Run link over the holiday is one of the best ways to build momentum for our $18,400 goal.

We would like to pass on this important information to you from Hartwood Elementary School and Stafford County Public Schools.

Keeping our students and families safe during arrival and dismissal is a top priority. Our drop-off and pick-up routine is unique, drivers must navigate from the Hartwood Presbyterian Church holding lot across two roads, including traffic traveling at 45 mph. Hartwood Elementary currently has an open Crossing Guard position, and having this role filled is essential to preventing delays and keeping traffic moving safely.

In the meantime, please use extra caution, slow down, and expect potential delays during peak times.

Our Hornets have settled beautifully into their new classrooms, and school routines are officially in full swing! Now that the back-to-school rush has calmed down and the dust has settled, we want to share a quick, friendly reminder.

Kick off your weekend with great coffee for a great cause! Join us for our very first Spirit Night…I mean Morning!... of the school year on Saturday, September 12th from 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Lidl parking lot on Rt 17.

We are teaming up with Brewberry Lane Coffee and Tea (owned by one of our very own HES families! 🐝💛), and they are generously donating 15% of all proceeds to the Hartwood Elementary PTA.

🚨 LAST CALL: We still need 1 volunteer for Fall Picture Day this Thursday, Sept 3rd, for the afternoon!

Picture Day is just around the corner, and we are looking for a few helping hands to make sure our Hornets look camera-ready!

We are also looking for two people to volunteer for Makeup Picture Day on October 15th. Usually the photographers finish by lunch.
