Social Service Coordination & Recreation Consulting

MFHAS provides information, referrals, and resources to help individuals and families strengthen independence, stability, and wellbeing. Our goal is to connect residents with the supportive service

s they need to maintain self-sufficiency and improve quality of life. What We Do
Service Coordinators link individuals and families to critical community-based resources — from healthcare and education to employment, life skills, and recreation. We focus on supporting:

Seniors and adults with disabilities in maintaining independence and aging in place. Families in achieving self-sufficiency through skills training, job readiness, and financial literacy. Youth in accessing after-school, mentoring, and wellness programs that build future success. Our Impact
Service coordination benefits more than one million low-income seniors, families, and individuals nationwide. By bridging the gap between people and services, MFHAS helps reduce isolation, prevent premature institutionalization, and strengthen community connections. Why It Matters
Every connection builds stability. MFHAS promotes dignity, independence, and recreation as vital parts of a healthy, thriving community.

“Connection is the bridge between help and healing.”

“People say women are good at multitasking… but most of us aren’t showing off — we’re just trying to keep life moving.”

The Multitasking Magic of Women. Women’s History Month Reflection

This picture made me think about something.
People talk about women multitasking like it’s a special skill. But for many of us, it’s just life.
Women carry a lot.
We take care of families, clean homes, work jobs, support friends, and somehow still find a way to keep going.
For the past nine years, I’ve used my page through MFHAS simply to encourage people. No big office. No staff. Just me sharing thoughts, lessons, and sometimes a little hope.
Over the years, a few women have come by my home, sat on the couch in my basement, and talked about life. Not their names, not their stories — those stay private — but the conversations reminded me how strong women really are.
Sometimes all a person needs is a place where they can breathe for a moment and be heard.
Now that I’m an empty nester, I find myself reflecting on how many roles women carry every day. Mother. Friend. Listener. Problem solver. Caregiver.
We juggle it all — sometimes gracefully, sometimes barely holding it together — but we keep moving forward.
So during Women’s History Month, I just want to say this:
To every woman doing a hundred things at once…
I see you.
And if nobody told you today — you’re doing better than you think.

🕒 The "Spring Forward" Survival Guide for Busy Families
March 8th is coming! We all know that losing an hour can feel like losing a day when you’re managing a household. Here is how to transition your tiny humans (and yourself) without the usual Monday morning meltdown.
✨ Phase 1: The Slow Shift (Starting Now)
Don't wait until Saturday night! The secret is in the "10-minute slide."
The Math: Every two days, move bedtime and wake-up times 10–15 minutes earlier.
Why it works: By the time the clock actually jumps, their internal rhythms have already caught up.
Morning Hack: Open the curtains immediately. Natural light is the best way to reset a circadian rhythm!
🍽️ Phase 2: Mealtime Management
Believe it or not, your stomach tells your brain what time it is.
Shift meal times earlier by the same 10-minute increments.
Avoid heavy snacks or high-sugar treats close to the new, earlier bedtime to help their bodies settle.
🧘 Phase 3: The "Wind-Down" Ritual
As the days get longer, it’s harder for kids to realize it's bedtime when it’s still light outside.
Blackout Curtains: These are a parent's best friend in March.
Tech-Free Zone: Cut all screens at least 1 hour before the new bedtime.
Calm over Chaos: Replace wrestling or high-energy play with audiobooks or soft music 20 minutes before lights out.
Pro-Tip for Parents: Don't forget yourself! Go to bed 30 minutes earlier than usual on Saturday night. You can't pour from an empty (and exhausted) cup. ☕✨
Stay ready. Stay focused. We’ve got this, Dada or Mama!

🌟 Empowering Our Little Warriors: Why Every Girl Should Learn to Protect Herself! 🌟
Look at this fierce and joyful tiny ninja! 💪🥋 At just a toddler age, she's already striking powerful stances, throwing focused punches, and owning her space in her cool black girl. Moments like these remind us how important it is for little girls to practice safety skills early on.
Martial arts (like karate) isn't just about kicks and punches—it's about building unbreakable confidence, teaching self-defense basics, and helping girls feel strong, aware, and ready to protect themselves if ever needed. Studies and experts show that young girls who train gain huge boosts in self-esteem, learn to set boundaries, handle challenges with focus, and carry that inner strength into everyday life—from standing up to bullies to simply walking taller with pride.
This sweet girl is proof: starting young turns "what if" into "I can!" Her moves show discipline, her smile shows pure happiness, and her energy lights up everything around her. 💖
Parents, imagine your daughter growing up knowing she has tools to stay safe while having SO much fun doing it. It's empowerment wrapped in play!
Who's ready to sign their little one up for karate? Drop a ❤️ if this inspires you, or tag a mom who needs to see this!
