For nearly two centuries, St. Mary’s Catholic Church has stood as a beacon of faith, hope, and love in Fredericksburg and throughout the Texas Hill Country. Recognized as one of the Painted Churches of Texas, St. Mary’s continues to welcome visitors and worshippers alike.

Its story began in 1846 with a handful of German immigrants who formed the foundation of what would become a continually growing spiritual family. Today, the famous twin towers of the historic Marienkirche (1861) and the new St. Mary’s Church (1908) remain iconic landmarks of that enduring legacy.

The community’s faith has also shaped generations through St. Mary’s School, which has educated and formed several generations of children since 1856. 📚⛪

St. Mary’s is open to the public daily from 8:00am-5:00pm to visitors.

☕️ We had a great morning at our Leaders Breakfast Series, bringing together business and community members to hear directly from local leaders about the issues shaping Fredericksburg and Gillespie County.

We were pleased to welcome Clinton Bailey, Fredericksburg City Manager, at the Inn on Barons Creek who shared an update on the State of the City and provided insight into key issues impacting our community. Attendees enjoyed coffee and breakfast provided by Clear River Ice Cream

Topics included water, the city budget, updates from the Texas Legislature, and other timely issues affecting Fredericksburg. Thank you to everyone who joined us for an informative conversation about our community’s future!

In honor of Labor Day, we are looking ahead at the annual Career and Job Fair at Fredericksburg High School! Each year, dozens of member businesses table at the fair with the intention of hiring career bound seniors, or giving part time or seasonal employment to underclassmen.

The Career and Job Fair is held in the spring annually, check back for more information!
