🚑 EMS Week | May 17–23

This week, we recognize the paramedics and EMTs who are there when seconds matter most.

Last year, our Fire/EMS crews responded to nearly 4,000 medical calls, providing critical care and compassion across our community. We continue working to improve outcomes through:

🩸 Whole blood in the field
🏢 Expanded downtown station space
🎓 Ongoing advanced training

Thank you to our EMS professionals for your skill, commitment, and service—every call, every day.

🚲 Expanding our capabilities—on two wheels!

This week, Fredericksburg Fire/EMS proudly hosted an IPMBA Bike Medic Course, bringing together personnel for hands-on training and certification.

We’re excited to share that 6 Fredericksburg Fire/EMS members and 1 Kerrville Fire Department member successfully completed the course and testing today—adding valuable bike medic resources to our team and our region.

These specially trained responders enhance our ability to quickly navigate busy events, trails, and crowded areas to provide high-quality emergency care when seconds matter most.

👏 Special thanks to instructor Chris Wynslow for leading an outstanding course and helping prepare our crews for this important role.

🚒🔥 We had a great time hosting students from Fredericksburg Elementary School during their third-grade field trip! 🚑👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

Students got an inside look at what it takes to serve our community—learning about the many roles firefighters and paramedics perform each day. They also toured our station and checked out a fire engine and ambulance up close.

Thank you to the students, teachers, and staff for spending part of your day with us—we loved the great questions, energy and curiosity!

🚨 Who knows… we may have met some future firefighters and paramedics today! 🚒💙
