🚨 NEW CERT ALERT! 🚨

We want to take a moment to recognize one of our own from C-Shift, Ryan McBee for passing his exams!

Firefighter/Paramedic McBee is now newly certified as both a Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C) and Flight Paramedic (FP-C)! 🩺🚑🚁

These certifications represent an incredible amount of hard work, dedication, and commitment to providing the highest level of care to our community.

🎉🚒 A Birthday Ride to Remember! 🚒🎉

This morning, B-Shift had the honor of giving Adlee Sieckmann a special ride to Fredericksburg Primary School in a fire engine as an early birthday surprise!

The experience was made possible through a "Take Your Kid to School in a Fire Engine" certificate donated by the department for a local silent auction.

Happy Birthday, Adlee! We hope your special ride made for an unforgettable start to your birthday week. 🎂🚒

🚒 Structure Fire – Schumann Rd

Around 1:30 this morning, Fredericksburg Fire/EMS was dispatched to the 1600 blk of Schumann Road near Stonewall for a reported structure fire involving a two-story residence.

Fredericksburg Fire/EMS assisted Stonewall VFD with manpower and water supply operations. Johnson City VFD also responded and provided assistance.

The fire was contained to the structure, and no injuries were reported.

All personnel have cleared the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

8/28 3:20P: This fire is 171 acres and 95% contained. The fire rekindled about an acre and additional crews have been called to continue working to put out flames and hot spots.

No changes to community impacts.

8/28 11:10A: Fire still at 165 acres and 90% containment. No change to operations or impacts.

8/28 8:10A: Containment operations and mop up of embers continued overnight. Fire has been updated to about 165 acres and 90% contained. Crews will finalize containment this morning and work to improve dozer lines around the fire in case of any restarts with today's heat.

8/27 10:15P: Fire remains at 155 acres and 80% containment. No change to impacts.

8/27 8:50P: Updated fire size is about 155 acres at 60% containment. Crews continue to mop up the fire's edge. Some heavy fuels still have a lot of heat from the fire.

1 outbuilding saved and 1 large hunting blind lost. No lost structures. No displaced residents.

8/27 8:30P: Crews continue to work hotspots and areas with fire still present. Forward motion of the fire has been slowed significantly. Acreage estimates will be updated with new measurements.

At this time, 1 outbuilding was threatened, no structures have been reported lost, and no residents displaced.

8/27 7:10P: The DuderStadt fire is about 50 acres and 0% contained as of now. 1 outbuilding is threatened. Fire crews continue to work the fire. Texas Forest Service is on scene to assist. Residents in the area are encouraged to stay aware and give responders space to work the fire.

8/27 6:30P: Crews continue to work the brushfire. Multiple City and County fire crews are out on this fire to assist. The fire is moving north in the direction of Fallen Oaks Drive. Continue to monitor fire conditions if in the area and heed first responder direction.

8/27 5:50P: Fire crews are responding to reports of a brushfire near the 1740 block Duderstadt Rd south of Harper in Western Gillespie County. Yield to responding units and steer clear of the area.

🔥🚫 Protecting Gillespie County Starts With Prevention 🚫🔥

Due to current conditions and increased wildfire danger, the Gillespie County Commissioners Court has enacted a Burn Ban effective at 9:15 a.m. on August 21, 2026, for all unincorporated areas of Gillespie County.

When temperatures are high and vegetation is dry, a single spark can have devastating consequences. By following the burn ban and practicing fire-safe habits, we can reduce the risk of wildfires and protect our neighbors, first responders, homes, livestock, and natural resources.

Thank you for doing your part to keep Gillespie County safe.
