Citizens Truck Company The Citizens Truck Company #4 is a Volunteer Fire Department located in the City of Frederick, Maryland. before the current station was built later on.

The Citizens Truck Company is a completely "special service" Company located in downtown Frederick. Our apparatus compliment is two Tractor Drawn Aerials (TDAs) and one Air/Light Unit. Our organization is a combination system comprised of a cadre of volunteers and Career Personnel assigned to the station from the Frederick County Department of Fire Rescue Services (FCDFRS) . Our response area spre

ads from the City of Frederick all the way to Mount Airy in Carroll County. Due to our central location our units are dispatched to many areas within Frederick County. The Citizens Truck Company was founded in 1926 by members of the three city companies (1, 2 & 3) and originally housed at the Junior Fire Co. From there the then two bay "Truck House" only housed one TDA but then expanded to add a third apparatus bay which stored the second TDA when it was purchased in later years. The Company has evolved from being volunteer to having part-time/career personnel then having city employed personnel absorbed by the FCDFRS which is where we stand currently. At the present time: there are three shifts each with one Lieutenant, a Technician, a Firefighter and a detailed/float Firefighter position. There is always a minimum of 3 personnel on duty at the Station 24/7/365. The volunteer organization provides staffing, drivers and support with operational personnel and also provides Administrative support as well. On top of operational responses: both Career and Volunteer personnel take part in continual training and fire prevention activities. Volunteers are always needed. We are always in need of Firefighters, Drivers and Tillerman as well as Administrative personnel to help support behind the scenes. It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing this morning of Stephen “Jeff” Wisner, Life Member and currently a Trustee of the Citizens Truck Company #4.

Jeff has been an integral part of our organization as a career firefighter (retired) and volunteer that always had the best interest to ensure our community commitment.

On behalf of our membership, our thoughts and prayers are extended to his family.
