Thankful for amazing community partners like Friends of the Child Advocacy Center and the Frederick County Public Libraries for partnering with us to bring a fun filled evening of childcare activities for our children during our annual Resource Parent Appreciation dinner.

It truly takes a village 💜

DSS holds an annual foster parent appreciation dinner and they provide childcare. The Friends funded yoga activities. Bonnie engaged the kids (and adults) in fun, active, yoga inspired games. Everyone had a great time!

Thank you to our staff, community members, Frederick County Dept. Advisory Board Members, and Acting Secretary Rodgers for helping us recognize the hard work of our foster parents during National Foster Care Month.

Last night was a lovely evening filled with laughter, smiles, and so much appreciation for our foster families💜

To our families, thank you for bringing comfort during difficult seasons, creating peace in uncertain moments, and remaining dedicated within your care and love. What you do changes lives and we are so grateful for your partnership in fostering love in our community.

Kick started National Foster Care Month with a proclamation at Wi******er Hall on May 4th.

Thank you to Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater for proclaiming May as National Foster Care Month. We are honored to work along amazing families and community members to help support our youth and families.

Spent some time Saturday with our families to re-certify critical skills such as CPR + First Aid. Just one of the many invaluable skills that our resource parents maintain to provide the best care to our community.

We are already planning for our next licensure training and we would love to have you join us!

No matter where you are in the process; motivated and ready to open your home or wanting to gather more understanding about what being a foster parent entails. This training is for you!

We host these training sessions at our Department, providing you the opportunity to connect with your resource unit team while you navigate and explore the possibilities of fostering. Attend our upcoming information session to get started- May 7th (6pm-7:30pm)

Thank you to our amazing community partner, Frederick County, MD: The Forgotten Initiative and their generous community at Collective Church who provided pre-filled diaper bags and extra clothing to be kept in our visitation rooms to help provide extra support to our social workers and parents during weekly family time!

Our workers and families thank you for this thoughtful donation 💜

We are so thankful that Collective Church made us the Q1 partner! It brings awareness and supplies to the local foster care community and we couldn’t do this without them!!

A huge congratulations to our prospective applicants who completed our licensure training last night 🥳

A total of nine nights filled with great discussions and curious exploration of the amazing role of serving as a resource parent. We are thankful for the opportunity to connect and support new families while they consider their fostering journey 💜

We had so much fun this weekend treating our families to a movie outing at Warehouse Cinemas Frederick, MD!

Our kiddos were able to make a Movie Buddy 🧸 with Shannon's Custom Creations Stuffy Style before our screening of Zootopia 2. Time spent together is always a wonderful way to celebrate and pour love into our amazing fostering community. A huge thank you to these two vendors who made sure our families had the best time!
