As part of the Senior Nutrition Program network, Frederick County Senior Services helps older adults in our community by promoting healthy eating, decreasing social isolation, and improving health. Our program also provides connections to home and community-based services that can support independence and overall well-being. For 50 years, senior nutrition services have helped create healthy, strong communities where all members can flourish regardless of their age. That’s why we proudly recognize this milestone anniversary of the national Senior Nutrition Program and its tremendous impact on the health and well-being of older adults in our community. Join us in celebrating our seniors, our program, and our community. Together, we look forward to another 50 years and beyond!

Arm Yourself with COVID Vaccine Information --
A Virtual Workshop for Older Adults and Others Seeking Information About COVID-19 Precautions, Vaccine Safety and Future Clinics

The Frederick County Senior Services Division, in cooperation with Frederick County Health Department, will host a virtual workshop to give older adults, their family, friends, caregivers, and others information about continued COVID-19 precautions, current COVID vaccines, and county vaccination prioritization phases.
Dr. Randy Culpepper, Deputy Health Officer and Medical Director of the Frederick County Health Department, will conduct the virtual workshop on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 12:00pm.
No preregistration is required. Participants will be able to join the workshop about 5 minutes before the program begins. The program will utilize the Webex platform, allowing up to 1,000 participants to join the meeting by entering the following code into their browser: https://bit.ly/36dHU6K.

Frederick County Senior Services Division in cooperation with Frederick County Health Department will host a virtual workshop to give older adults, their family and friends step-by-step guidance to the online registration process for Covid-19 vaccine appointments.
The virtual workshop will be conducted on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 1:00pm, by Shawn Dennison, Public Affairs Officer, COVID Division of the Frederick County Health Department.

As we navigate Thanksgiving in new ways this year, the Meals on Wheels staff is very grateful for the support of the Frederick County residents, organizations and agencies, as well as the many Frederick County government divisions, working together to assure our most vulnerable seniors continue to receive nutritious meals.

Meals on Wheels continues to serve our most vulnerable home bound clients. However, many other older adults may be having difficulty with shopping or other errands. In addition, it can be very lonely sitting at home. Please check on your older neighbors with a friendly phone call. If you're able, offer to shop for them. Share kindness.
