Civitan Club learns about Maryland Cool Kids Inc.
The Civitan Club of Frederick held a Discover Civitan picnic Thursday, June 4th at Staley Park, Frederick. A part of the program was a presentation from Amy Masser, area coordinator for "Maryland Cool Kids Inc."
In just four years, the organization has grown to one hundred twenty members. The members who have Intellectual and developmental disabilities enjoy many activities such as kick ball, karaoke, yoga, bingo, dance parties, bocce, soccer, a reading group, horseback riding, community gardens, flower arrangements and much more.
Ms. Masser explained that many of the activities are low cost or no cost. MD Cool Kids currently operates with four people on the board who volunteer their time. The Civitan Club made a donation of prizes to be used for their bingos. Follow Maryland Cool Kids, Inc. on Facebook.
