🚑 Happy EMS Week 2026, Frederick County!
This week, we're proud to celebrate the men and women of Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services who answer the call — every shift, every day.
The numbers tell part of the story. In 2025 alone, FCDFRS units responded to tens of thousands of ALS and BLS calls across Frederick County — a number that continues to grow year over year as our community grows. In fact, call volume at some of our stations has increased by more than 27% in recent years, a testament to the increasing demand our paramedics and EMTs meet without hesitation.
Behind every one of those calls is a highly trained professional — someone who completed hundreds of classroom hours, thousands of clinical hours, and months of field training before ever running a call independently.
All week long, we'll be sharing a look inside what it takes to build and sustain a career in EMS here in Frederick County — from recruit to paramedic, and from paramedic to captain.
