Frederick seniors (age 60+) and people with special abilities have access to Via Mobility Services, a free transportation service designed to help residents stay independent and connected.

Via provides rides for medical appointments, therapy, grocery shopping, senior centers, social activities, employment, and more. Pre-paid grocery delivery is also available within the Carbon Valley.

𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀:
- Available Monday–Friday, 8 am–3 pm

- Service within Frederick, Firestone, Dacono, Boulder, Longmont, Louisville, and Lafayette (some routes may be limited)

- Open to seniors 60+, people with permanent or temporary disabilities, qualifying youth riders, and income-qualified households

It takes a whole community to get Frederick in Flight off the ground, and our volunteers are right in the middle of the action. You can help launch the magic, guide the glow, wrangle the fun, and keep this community tradition soaring!

Be part of the adventure from the ground up as a hot air balloon crew member, also known as a chase crew. From setting up and launching the balloon to following it across town and helping pack up after landing, crew members play an important role in the excitement, safety, and success of each flight. It’s a hands-on, front-row experience that helps pilots soar and gives passengers an unforgettable ride.

"My daughter Juni loves the balloons. Every weekend they fly she is in the back yard and the front yard following them as they move over our house. Having the yearly balloon festival is something we all look forward to. It's a great way to bring the community together."

Only 14 more days until Frederick in Flight takes to the skies!

Join us June 26, 27, and 28 at Centennial Park, 630 Eighth St., for our annual hot air balloon festival. Morning lift offs begin around 6 am each day, weather permitting.

Then, don’t miss the Saturday night Balloon Bash from 5 to 9 pm with live music, food trucks, a beer garden, kids' activities, and hot air balloons glowing and candlesticking throughout the evening, weather permitting.

𝗖𝗗𝗢𝗧 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: 𝗔 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗢 𝟱𝟮 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗖𝗥 𝟮𝟭 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟮, 𝗮𝘁 𝟳 𝗽𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟱, 𝗮𝘁 𝟱 𝗮𝗺 to replace a drainage pipe under the highway. Due to the deep excavations required within a narrow work zone, a closure is necessary to safely install the large pipe.

- Local access to properties between WCR21 and WCR23 will be maintained

- Motorists will be directed to use I-25 on the west and US Highway 85 on the east to either CO 7 or CO 66 to bypass the closure

What can a few hours and a lot of community pride accomplish? Last week, during FRED Gives Back: Community Clean-Up Day, Town staff rolled up their sleeves to help beautify Frederick by picking up litter, beautifying Downtown, and showing their commitment to the community.

Service is at the heart of what we do. After all, we are public servants, and caring for our community extends beyond the office and into the places we all call home.
