Fort Detrick Alliance

Fort Detrick Alliance The Fort Detrick Alliance is a Maryland non-profit organization with the mission of building relationships between Fort Detrick and the region.

The primary purpose of the organization is to facilitate communication and understanding between Federal agencies at Fort Detrick and the community at large. To accomplish this mission, the Fort Detrick Alliance works on a daily basis to build relationships between Fort Detrick and its constituencies in the region: individuals; businesses; civic, social, and educational organizations; and local an

d state government entities. This work takes several forms:

Promoting Fort Detrick's contributions, economic assets, and resources to the local community, the region, and the country through the Fort Detrick Alliance Web site, through outreach to the media, and by holding informational events in the community. Aiding the economic development of the region through organizing and participating in networking events that introduce the Frederick-region business community to business opportunities at Fort Detrick. Advocating for developing and expanding the important work done at Fort Detrick in the areas of cancer research, biological research and vaccine development, medical protection of the nation’s Armed Forces, and global communications. Facilitating communication between Fort Detrick and the region through
organizing and participating in events that introduce the regional community and the organizations at Fort Detrick to each other and providing information about Fort Detrick's important work in terms that all laymen can understand. Acting as the knowledge-base about Fort Detrick through providing trusted and fact-based information to the media and the public about Fort Detrick's activities and accomplishments; acting as the community's ombudsman on matters at Fort Detrick that concern and affect the community. As the Fort Detrick Alliance moves forward to the future it will continue to take the Fort Detrick message to the region and it will continue to spearhead and participate in important activities, such as the Army's Community Covenant and the Twilight Tattoo, that bring Fort Detrick and the surrounding community together in mutual understanding, respect, and accomplishment.

The Fort Detrick Alliance could not function without support from our members, especially our Board Members. Today we give thanks to all of our members and board members who volunteer countless hours to support our mission. We are fortunate for the support from Interm Homes as a member, and especially Board Secretary, Tonia Jacobson of Interm Homes.

More than an association, the Fort Detrick Alliance is an engine for connectivity – bringing the value and contributions of the Fort Detrick installation forward to communities, corporations, and educational institutions - private and public - for the benefit of all. In this capacity as a facilitator, I have learned more about the priorities of the businesses, government and the general public that have helped me identify new opportunities where Interim Homes can offer solutions for workforce and corporate relocation housing, supporting talent acquisition and retention programs, intern programs, onboarding and rotational management or extended projects. Fort Detrick Alliance has helped me serve and become an essential partner in this ecosystem and the expanding Frederick and western Maryland region.
