Comments or posts made by the public to the page will be monitored, and while they will not be removed based on their opinion or viewpoint, the Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to remove comments that include:
• Comments or replies unrelated to the purpose and topical scope of the post
• Obscenities
• Personal identifying information or sensitive personal information
• Incitement to imminent lawless action
• Speech presenting a grave and imminent threat
• Fighting words
• True threats
• Fraud
• Defamation (libel/slander)
• Solicitation to commit, or speech integral to, criminal conduct
• Information that could reasonably compromise public safety
• Promotion or advertisement of a business or commercial transaction
• Promotion or endorsement in favor of, or in opposition to, a political campaign or candidate
• Apparent spam
• Content posted by automatic software programs (i.e. “bots”)
• Copyrighted material
The Sheriff’s Office may take steps to remove a comment if it falls within one of the foregoing categories. By posting or commenting, you agree to these terms of use. If a Facebook user’s comment is removed, the moderator will notify the user by Facebook Messenger that the comment was removed and the reason for its removal. Users who have been properly notified of violating these terms on more than 3 occasions and who continue to violate these policies are subject to suspension of posting privileges or blocking. Any user who wishes to have their posting privileges restored or to be unblocked should send a request to the page moderator no earlier than three months after the date on which the user was prohibited from commenting, replying or blocked. Violations of these terms may go unnoticed as the page is not monitored 24/7. If any user discovers a comment or post that seems to violate these terms, please reach out to the Sheriff’s Office via Facebook Messenger to alert us of the potential violation. Those who provide content to this site agree to have no expectation of privacy in the information provided.
