This morning, the City, County, and Fort Detrick stood together in the World Trade Center Steel Memorial Garden, 25 years after September 11, 2001, to remember and honor the lives lost and the bravery of those who ran toward the danger.
First responders, service members, veterans, and their families gathered as one community. Thank you to keynote speaker Armando Eversley of U.S. Army Fire and Emergency Services for sharing his words with us this morning.

Today, the City of Frederick joins communities across our nation in marking 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost. We honor the first responders who ran toward danger. We recognize the survivors, families, and communities who continue to feel the weight of that day.

Twenty-five years later, we carry forward its lessons: the courage of those who served, the strength found in community, and the importance of caring for one another.

Today, we remember. We honor. We will never forget.
