Great police work by our patrol officers and investigators led to the arrest of a robbery suspect earlier this month.

On May 13, 2025, officers responded to a robbery in the 1300 block of W. Seventh Street after a victim reported that a suspect approached her while she was withdrawing money from an ATM, demanded cash, and forcibly took money before fleeing the area.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage, gathered evidence, and conducted follow-up investigation to identify the suspect. Their efforts led to the identification of Arnold Franklin Moyd Jr. (DOB: 10/09/1980) as the suspect.

On May 25, Frederick Police Department officers located and arrested Moyd in connection with the robbery.

We are proud of the dedication and persistence shown by the officers involved. Their commitment to thorough investigative work helped bring this case to a successful resolution and reinforces our ongoing mission to keep Frederick safe. Way to go, FPD!

A big thank you to Damascus Road Community Church for stopping by yesterday with donuts for our A-Squad officers! 🍩💙

We're not saying the stereotype is true... but the donuts disappeared pretty quickly. 😄

We appreciate the generosity, support, and encouragement from our community. Thank you for helping make our officers' day a little sweeter!

What a beautiful day for the Torch Run!

We are so proud to join the Special Olympics Maryland, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, and the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office for this incredible annual tradition supporting our amazing Special Olympics athletes.

From the perfect weather to the energy along the route, today was a reminder of what makes Frederick so special. Law enforcement agencies, volunteers, supporters, and community members all came together with one mission: championing inclusion, perseverance, and opportunity for every athlete.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make the event run smoothly, and to Mission BBQ and Chick-fil-A for keeping everyone fueled and ready to go throughout the day. Your support means so much to our athletes and our community. ❤️

Honored to be recognized by our community today!

Members of La Luz del Mundo Church visited the Frederick Police Department to deliver snack bags to our officers as part of their initiative. We’re grateful for their thoughtful gesture and the time they took to stop by the station.

Thank you, Pastor Ozkar Monzalvo and the La Luz del Mundo congregation, for your support and kindness. Your encouragement means a lot to our officers and staff who serve Frederick every day.

This Memorial Day weekend, however you're celebrating, we hope it's a good one.

But before you head out, make a plan to get home safe. Our officers will be out in full force all weekend long, and so will everyone else on the road.

The math is simple:
🚫 DUI = fines, jail time, and a future that looks a whole lot different than you planned.

So before the cookout starts:
✅ Pick a DD
✅ Use a rideshare
✅ Crash on a couch

We'd much rather spend this weekend celebrating alongside our community than writing reports. Help us do that.

Drink. Celebrate. Just don't drive.

Nine years. 🫡

We want to take a moment to recognize Auxiliary Officer Dawn Albertini for 9 years of volunteer service to our department and our community.

Again and again, year after year. That kind of commitment doesn't go unnoticed, even when it happens quietly behind the scenes.

From all of us at FPD, thank you! What you've given to this community is real, and it matters. We're proud to have you on the team. 💙
