Today’s Boards & Commissions Appreciation Event in Frederick was a powerful reminder that community change does not happen by accident — it happens because dedicated residents continue to show up, speak up, and serve.

So grateful to stand alongside the incredible volunteers, advocates, leaders, and public servants who give their time, expertise, and passion to make Frederick County stronger, more inclusive, and more connected every single day. From policy and planning to advocacy and community engagement, these boards and commissions help shape the future of our county in meaningful ways.

Thank you to everyone who serves behind the scenes, often without recognition, simply because you care deeply about this community. Frederick is better because of you. 💙✨

✨ Thurmont, you showed up—and your voices mattered. ✨
The Frederick County Women’s Commission Listening Tour stop in Thurmont was nothing short of powerful. We gathered to have real, honest conversations about what women in our community need, deserve, and are actively working toward.
From advancing women’s leadership and creating stronger pathways for young girls, to supporting the LGBTQ+ community, expanding access to health and nutrition education, and making sure resources are actually reachable—this was about meeting women where they are… literally and intentionally.
Every story shared, every idea voiced, and every connection made helps shape a stronger, more inclusive Frederick County.
💬 This is what listening looks like.
💪 This is what community feels like.
🚀 And we’re just getting started.

The Frederick County Commission for Women, in partnership with the Frederick County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, proudly hosted The Realitea of Menopause—an afternoon of connection, education, and empowerment. 💜🫖

Attendees gathered in a warm, welcoming space to engage in honest conversations about menopause, hear from knowledgeable panelists, and share personal experiences in a supportive community. From laughter to learning, the event created a safe space to break stigmas and normalize the journey so many women experience.

Guests also embraced the spirit of the occasion in beautiful tea attire and showed up in generosity, donating feminine hygiene products to support Heartly House.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible panelists, volunteers, and every attendee who made this event so meaningful. Your openness and energy are what made this experience truly special.

Here’s to continuing the conversation, supporting one another, and prioritizing women’s health—together. 💫

🌈 Honoring Le***an History 🌈

Throughout history, le***an women have played powerful roles in advancing equality, building communities, and advocating for visibility and justice. During Le***an Visibility Week, we celebrate the courage, resilience, and contributions of le***an leaders, activists, artists, and everyday individuals who have helped shape a more inclusive world.

Trailblazers like Audre Lorde, Barbara Gittings, and Del Martin used their voices to challenge discrimination, advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, and create space for le***an stories to be seen and heard.

Le***an history is filled with stories of strength, community, love, and advocacy. By recognizing these stories, we honor the past while continuing the work toward a future where everyone can live openly, safely, and authentically.

Let’s continue to uplift and celebrate le***an voices, experiences, and leadership in our communities.

✨ Visibility matters. Representation matters. History matters.

💛 National Infertility Awareness Week 💛

This week we recognize National Infertility Awareness Week—a time to raise awareness, break stigma, and support the millions of individuals and families navigating infertility.

Infertility is more common than many realize, yet it’s often experienced in silence. This week is about opening conversations, sharing stories, and ensuring no one feels alone in their journey.

We honor the strength of those who are:
✨ Trying to grow their families
✨ Exploring different paths to parenthood
✨ Coping with loss, uncertainty, or unanswered questions

Organizations like RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association continue to advocate for access to care, education, and support for all.

Let’s commit to leading with compassion, understanding, and empathy—because every path to parenthood is valid, and every story matters. 💛
