Nash for Frederick

Nash for Frederick Katie Nash is a city councilmember for the City of Frederick, MD. Authority: Josh Bokee, Treasurer, Nash for Frederick. From Katie . . . MORE ABOUT KATIE . . .

I am happy to share with you that I have filed to run for Alderman of the City of Frederick! There is much we can do together. City Hall serves every neighborhood. Join me as we work to recover from the pandemic, create a better community and do more for our neighbors. My belief system is servanthood through love; it characterizes my work and it speaks to why I am running for Alderman. I am a comm

unity advocate, a business owner and a parent educator. I have been fortunate to advocate for our first responders, community libraries, equity and inclusion, vaccine distribution, educational opportunities, renewable energy projects and other issues that are important to all of us here in Frederick. In 2020, many worked to help elect Joe Biden President and, in his words, begin to "build back better." I remember traveling from Frederick to York, PA knowing that every vote counted. In 2021, your vote matters and your support is crucial if together we are to ensure that the City of Frederick is the best that it can be for everyone. Katie and her husband, Josh Bokee, live in the City of Frederick with their blended family of three kids; and their adopted dogs, cat and lizard. Katie graduated from Hood College (B.A/MBA) and has worked in the Maryland General Assembly in Annapolis, and now, is in private sector contracting and consulting. She serves multiple non-profit organizations and is active in her faith community. Katie loves spending time outside with her family outdoors - gardening, running, hiking, camping and picking up kids' toys left in the yard.

Today & every day we celebrate our Pride in the City of Frederick. My heart is full of love for my LGBTQIA+ members of my human family.
I will always do what I can to protect you in the small ways available to me in City government.

I write this as so-called "conservatives" are trying to redefine birthright citizenship. We enjoy limited protections in Maryland - something for which I have never been more grateful.

Freedom.

Our City will host our first Pride Parade this week.

I am so proud of the advocates who asked & worked for this event. This is your victory.
This is your power. 🌈
The Frederick Center

Local government can be a place of solutions & a catalyst for change. Advocates worked for years to make the Pride Parade happen. A City 2024 meeting for the FY2025 budget & resulting decisions ensured security would be provided and Pride would finally have full City support.
