🚨 April is Stress Awareness Month 🚨

Emergencies can be stressful enough on their own. Calling 9-1-1 for help shouldn’t add to the pressure. Here are some tips to make calling for help during an emergency a little less stressful:

🧘‍♂️ Take a deep breath – It helps you stay calm and gives you time to organize your thoughts.
📍 Know your location – While technology can assist, it's not always perfect. Be ready to provide your address or nearby landmarks.
🗣️ Speak calmly and clearly – Dispatchers need to hear you clearly to help you. Avoid rushing or raising your voice.
⚠️ Give a brief description of the problem – Focus on what’s happening right now instead of providing a long history.
👂 Listen to the dispatcher’s questions and instructions – They’re trained to guide you with the right questions to get help to you faster.
🕐 Stay calm and patient – The dispatcher needs the right information to send the appropriate help to the right place.
📞 Stay on the line when necessary – Sometimes you’ll need to stay on the phone for additional instructions or safety info.

Use these tips to help make emergencies more manageable and reduce stress during a critical time. 💪🏼
