Studies show that much of crime, especially property crimes like burglary, theft, and vehicle break-ins, is opportunistic. Most criminals will choose an unlocked home or vehicle rather than those that require breaking windows or picking locks.

Reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim of vehicle-related crime by removing valuables from your vehicle(s), locking your doors (and trunk/hatch), and doing your best to park, whether in your driveway or on the street, in a well-lit space.

If you have been the victim of a break-in, see something suspicious, or have video you believe may be valuable to Fraser DPS in connection to recent vehicle break-ins in the area, please call Detective Sergeant Ben Hoppe at (586) 293-2000 EXT 218.

Fraser Department of Public Works (DPW) is repairing a water main break on Linden Street.

Some of the residents in the immediate area will have their water shut off during the repair. These residents have been personally notified by the DPW that their water is being shut off.

In the surrounding area, disturbances in the water main may temporarily cause minerals/sediments to appear in the water. This is no cause for critical concern. The water is still safe to use. We advise residents that if they experience any brown or “rusty” water, to run cold water in the bathtub or utility sink until the coloration subsides. Typically, the water should clear up in about 10-15 minutes.

Fraser DPW understands and empathizes with the inconvenience this water main break may cause to our residents. If any further developments arise regarding this issue, we will communicate these as soon as possible.

Many thanks to Macomb County Department of Roads for partnering with Fraser Public Schools for this year's "Paint the Plow" program.

If you're on a snowy road this season, you might catch a glipse - and please, keep your eyes on the road, especially during slick conditions - of the plow painter by Richards Middle School art students entitled "Think Sunny Thoughts."

While you might not enjoy driving in snow, we're proud to shout out these talented young artists from Fraser, whatever their canvas!

We advise residents that if they experience any brown or “rusty” water, to run cold water in the bathtub or utility sink until the coloration subsides. Typically, the water should clear up in about 10-15 minutes.

As temperatures warm a bit today and the snow melts, Clinton River Watershed Council (CRWC) would like to remind those who shovel and salt to be mindful when doing both/either this winter.

These five points will not only help you avoid slips and falls during snow season, the tips will also keep our watershed as healthy as possible!

Last night, Fraser Department of Public Safety participated in one of its favorite events of the year: Shop with a Hero at Fraser's Meijer, 34835 Utica Road.

Thanks to the generosity of our state's homegrown grocery chain and with some help from Fraser Public Schools, Fraser DPS heroes were able to shop with more families than ever! The shoppers were able to pick out items for themselves and their loved ones through the incredible donation of gift cards from Meijer, which also provided a gift bag filled with snacks, beverages, and a holiday ornament. Each family was also treated to a pizza, cookies, and the opportunity for a photo with Santa!

Being able to work with and in a community that cares is vital to the success of any city, and this year's Shop with a Hero underlines how much good will and concern Fraser's businesses and residents have for others. Fraser DPS is grateful to everyone at Meijer, but especially the staff who packed bags, provided photo opportunities, checked us out, and helped our families with anything they needed during the event.

Happy holidays from everyone at Fraser DPS! 🎁🎄☃
