Yesterday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrated the renaming of Rotary Park to Rollinger Park in honor of longtime community supporters George and Maggie Rollinger, as well as the park's recent facility upgrades.

Derek spent so much time at Rotary Park growing up in Roseville, which made seeing the improvements all the more exciting. The splash pad is such a fun addition for local families and kids heading into summer!

The weather may have been stormy, but it was still a great day to be out at Roseville Junior Sports League Opening Day!

Roseville Junior Sports was a big part of Derek’s childhood, so it was especially meaningful to come out and support. Wishing all the athletes, coaches, and families a great season ahead.

National Police Week is a time to recognize and thank the brave men and women who serve and protect our communities every day. As a Macomb County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Derek works with law enforcement officers daily and has great respect for the commitment and responsibility the job requires.

That’s why the endorsement and support of the Police Officers Association of Michigan (POAM) and Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham mean so much to him. Thank you to all of our officers for your dedication and service!

This National Nurses Week, Derek is especially proud to recognize a nurse who helped shape his life and his commitment to service—his mom, Linda.

Linda’s journey into nursing was deeply personal. After spending years caring for Derek and his two older sisters, who are all Type 1 diabetics, she felt called to serve others facing similar challenges and went to nursing school. What began at home turned into a lifelong passion for helping patients navigate difficult moments with skill and empathy.

Today (and always), Derek thanks Linda and every nurse in our community for the dedication, resilience, and compassion they bring to their work!
