🚔 SATURDAY CRIME SAFETY TIP 🚔

A quick trip to the store can become an opportunity for criminals if we're distracted or unprepared. Whether you're running errands during the day or shopping after dark, a few simple habits can help keep you and your family safe.

✅ Park in well-lit areas close to entrances when possible.
✅ Stay off your phone and remain aware of your surroundings.
✅ Lock your vehicle and keep valuables out of sight.
✅ Look around before entering or exiting your vehicle.
✅ Trust your instincts, if something doesn't feel right, leave the area and seek help.

Criminals often look for easy targets. By staying alert and taking a few extra precautions, you can greatly reduce your chances of becoming a victim.

👀 See something suspicious? Report it immediately.
📞 In an emergency, call 911.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for our area until 10PM this evening.

Storms that develop may produce:

We encourage everyone to stay weather aware throughout the evening. Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts, secure outdoor items, and be prepared to move indoors if severe weather approaches your location.

If you encounter downed power lines, flooded roadways, or other hazardous conditions, avoid the area and report emergencies to 911.

🇺🇸 D-DAY REMEMBRANCE | JUNE 6, 1944 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the brave men who stormed the beaches of Normandy 82 years ago during one of the most significant military operations in history.

Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to freedom changed the course of the world. Many never returned home, but their legacy continues to inspire generations of Americans.

As we enjoy the freedoms they fought to preserve, let us take a moment to honor the heroes of D-Day and all those who have served our nation.

We remember. We honor. We are forever grateful.

🇺🇸 From all of us at the Frankton Police Department, thank you to the Greatest Generation and every service member who has defended our freedom.

🚨 FRIDAY CRIME SAFETY TIP 🚨

Looking for a great deal online? Scammers are counting on it.

Before you buy from online marketplaces, remember these simple safety tips:

✅ Meet in a public place
✅ Inspect the item before paying
✅ Pay in person whenever possible
✅ Research the seller and the listing
❌ Never send deposits or payment upfront
❌ Don't trust deals that seem too good to be true

Common scam warning signs include sellers who refuse to meet, request payment before you see the item, use copied photos, or have little to no seller history.

Protect your hard-earned money by taking a few extra minutes to verify the seller and the product. A legitimate deal can wait, your safety and security come first.

If you believe you've been the victim of an online marketplace scam, contact your local law enforcement agency and report the incident.

🛡️ Be Cautious. Be Smart. Be Safe.

✅ Look twice before changing lanes or turning.
✅ Check your mirrors and blind spots.
✅ Allow extra following distance.
✅ Put distractions away and focus on driving.

A simple second look could save a life.

The Frankton Police Department encourages everyone to be aware of motorcyclists and do their part to keep our roads safe. Whether you're behind the wheel of a car or riding on two wheels, let's work together to prevent crashes and protect lives.

🚨⚡ THURSDAY CRIME SAFETY TIP ⚡🚨

Severe weather can knock out power in minutes, but a little preparation can help keep your family safe and your home secure.

✅ Use flashlights instead of candles to reduce fire risks.
✅ Keep doors and windows locked, even during an outage.
✅ Charge phones, backup batteries, and emergency devices before storms arrive.
✅ Stay aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activity immediately.
✅ Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and those who may need assistance.
