Fire Prevention Week brings some of our favorite moments of the year! Seeing what our youngest community members create and hearing what they think about firefighters reminds us just how special these connections are.

It’s Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10, and a great time to check a few important safety items at home.

✅ Test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace batteries if needed.
✅ Check your fire extinguishers.
✅ Review your family fire escape plan and meeting place.
✅ Talk with kids about getting out, staying out and calling 911 from a safe place.

🔋 This year’s Fire Prevention Week focus is lithium-ion battery safety.

Today’s tip: Charge it right! Always use the cord and charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer. The wrong charger can damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing more safety reminders and working with children to help them understand the importance of fire safety.

🚒 We’ll end the week with our elementary school tours, welcoming more than 200 kids through the station this year. We’re also excited to welcome the Racine Area Homeschoolers to our tours!

Stay safe and make fire safety a family conversation this week. ❤️

More amazing handmade donations from our incredible community members were dropped off for tomorrow’s Safety Day!

A huge thank you to Kevin Kraft, who handcrafted this awesome horseshoe rack for our event. The time, talent, and generosity that have gone into these donations mean so much to Raymond Fire & Rescue.

We could not be more grateful for the support our community continues to show us. ❤️🚒

We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow!

We’ve been busy getting the station ready for Safety Day this Saturday, and one of our newest additions is our member board!

We wanted a fun way to display and recognize all of the incredible people who make up Raymond Fire & Rescue. Our members are the heart of this department, and we can’t wait for everyone to see it when you visit the station this weekend.

And of course, our favorite firehouse dog, Sparky, had a little input on this year’s design. With Trunk or Treat right around the corner, he thought our crew needed a little Halloween spirit!

Make sure you check it out when you stop by Saturday. See if you recognize some familiar faces!
