Town of Franklinville, NC - Faith Rock and Sandy Creek Trailhead
Let’s celebrate America 250 NC with a hike to Faith Rock, the site of a Revolutionary War incident and Sandy Creek Trailhead, the site of a Revolutionary War battle.
Date: Sunday, September 13, 2026
Location/Time: Meet at the Farmer’s Market in Downtown Asheboro, 134 S. Church Street at 1:30pm or meet at Faith Rock Trailhead at 1306 Andrew Hunter Dr. in Franklinville at 2 pm
Hike Length: .75-mile loop to Faith Rock and 3.5 mile round trip to Sandy Creek Trailhead along Franklinville Rail Trail
Degree of Difficulty: The Franklinville Rail Trail, a section of the Deep River State Trail, is a flat historic fine gravel trail along the Deep River – Easy Hike. The trail loop to historic Faith Rock is steep – Difficult hike!
Dogs: Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times.
Wear comfortable shoes, bring water and a walking stick, if needed. Dress appropriately for a Fall hike. If it is raining at the time of the hike, the hike will be cancelled. There is no cost to participate, and no pre-registration is needed. This event is open to all who can hike this distance unaided.

The Franklinville Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on a sanitation fee increase of $1.00 per month before the regularly scheduled meeting on September 14th at 7:00pm at the Town Hall, 203 West Main St., Franklinville, NC 27248.
The cost of this service has risen substantially over the past two years.
This proposal can be reviewed at the Town Hall during business hours.

The First Baptist Church of Franklinville will hold its “Back to School Community Event” tomorrow tonight, Thursday, August 20th from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. The church is located at 440 Academy St. in Franklinville.
They are providing a hot dog meal, school supplies, and the Clothes Closet and Food Pantry will be open. Everything is FREE to all that attend!
Parents, take a night off from cooking and bring the kiddos for a meal, supplies, and the opportunity to connect with the people in our wonderful community!
