📢 Exciting News from Washington Parish Gas Utility District No. 2!📢

We are proud to announce that Gas Operations Supervisor Sarah Cook has completed and submitted an application for funding through the PHMSA Natural Gas Distribution Infrastructure Safety and Modernization Grant Program.
This federal grant program provides funding to help natural gas utilities improve safety, modernize infrastructure, and replace aging pipelines. If awarded, the funding would help our district continue improving the reliability and safety of the natural gas system that serves our community.
This application focuses on replacing aging pipeline infrastructure and investing in the future of our system. Receiving this grant would be a historic achievement for our district, as it would be the first grant ever awarded to Washington Parish Gas Utility District No. 2.
While the application process is highly competitive, we believe it is important to pursue every opportunity available to improve our system without placing additional burden on our customers.
We appreciate the support of our community and look forward to sharing updates as they become available. Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

📢 Important Billing Update

Beginning soon, customer bills will show charges separated into categories:

• Base Charge
• Gas Operational Cost
• Fuel Cost

This update is designed to improve transparency by showing the actual cost of natural gas separately from the cost of operating and maintaining the gas system.

The Base Charge is the minimum monthly charge that helps cover the maintenance and availability of the gas meter and system infrastructure, regardless of gas usage.

For most customers, the overall monthly bill is expected to remain similar. The primary change is how charges are displayed on the bill.
