Due to ongoing heavy rainfall, WPG Road Crews are continuing to evaluate roadway conditions across the parish. The following road closures are currently in effect:

Pearl River Near Bogalusa affecting Pearl River and Washington Counties. Pearl River Near Pearl River affecting Pearl River, Hancock and St. Tammany Counties. For the Bogue Chitto River...including Tylertown, Franklinton, Bush...Minor flooding is forecast. For the Lower Pearl River...including Bogalusa, Pearl River...Minor flooding is forecast.

MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Pearl River near Bogalusa.

* WHEN...From late Wednesday night to Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 18.5 feet, Woodlands and crop acreage along the river
will be flooded. The Bogue Chitto Wildlife Management area will be
inundated with water in recreational camps and over access roads.
At 20.0 feet, Woodlands and crop acreage along the river will be

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- There is no current observed data.
- Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage Friday
afternoon to a crest of 19.0 feet early Saturday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.0
feet on 04/12/1981.

🌀 NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center has initiated advisories on Potential Tropical Cyclone One near the TX coast. This system is expected to become a tropical storm Wednesday and make landfall near the TX/LA border.

Primary local impacts today thru Friday:
⛈️⚠️ Potentially significant flash flooding.
🌊 Minor coastal flooding of 1-3 feet above normally dry ground in SE LA.
🌪️ A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
⛵️ Unsettled marine weather.

Block Party Update - Due to the forecasted rain, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Block Party scheduled for Thursday.

The good news is that we've rescheduled the event for August 20th! We look forward to celebrating with everyone then and hope you'll join us for an even bigger and better gathering.
