The JCPL Foundation is looking for donations to help us get ready for a brand new afternoon tea fundraiser this fall (more details to come!).

If you have items to donate, please drop them off at any JCPL location. We are currently looking for fancy teapots and dishes, silver-plated flatware (we need a LOT of teaspoons, salad forks and butter knives, but will take all flatware!). We are also currently collecting Beatrix Potter books, decor or dishes.

Donated items will not be returned. They will be used each year at the afternoon tea, included in silent auction baskets to raise funds to support JCPL, or, if not needed, donated to a local nonprofit.

It's time to look in the attic, garage or cabinets to see if you have items that could support our afternoon tea fundraiser! Thank you!

With great sadness, we share the passing of Diane Black, beloved JCPL Foundation board member, on May 12.

Diane helped form and transform the JCPL Foundation, serving as a founding board member from 2016 to 2023 before rejoining the board in 2024. She was also a founding member of the Silver Tree Society, whose legacy gifts support Library programs, initiatives, and services for generations to come.

Diane was instrumental in fundraising efforts for the Enhancing the Story Special Projects Campaign for the new Clark Pleasant Branch and was a passionate champion for the sculpture honoring women in Johnson County.

She also served on the governing board as a JCPL Trustee from 2008 to 2016, helping the Library provide the community with excellent services.

In 2023, the Library awarded Diane with the Seel Family Library Champion of the Year award for her incredible volunteer service supporting JCPL.

She was an incredible reader, a faithful supporter of the Library, and an amazing friend to so many. Her generosity, leadership, and love for the community will leave a lasting impact.

Safe travels, Diane. You will be deeply missed. ❤️
