Longtime Franklin residents and community storytellers Jacqueline Drake and Charlie Haviland will co-host Franklin’s Labor Day Parade, continuing one of the Village’s cherished annual traditions.

Haviland, featured on The Franklin Show as a Franklin philanthropist, is a longtime resident, writer and community advocate who has reported on Franklin and surrounding communities, covering local government, public safety, community leaders and events.

Drake is a professional artist, Mind, Body & Creativity coach, longtime Franklin resident and co-founder of The Drake Center for Transformative Healing in downtown Franklin. She formerly owned the Healing Arts Gallery, where she and Haviland co-hosted open mic poetry nights featuring local poets, writers, artists and community members.

Together, Haviland and Drake will provide commentary, introductions and hometown enthusiasm as the parade travels through the Village.

Franklin resident and recent Groves High School graduate Xavier Drake will help open this year’s Franklin Labor Day Parade with a performance of the National Anthem.

Xavier’s will performance will begin at noon on Monday, September 7, as the Franklin Labor Day Parade begins in downtown Franklin Village.
