Franklin’s nursing homes are an integral part of our community, caring for our elderly and providing them with the comfort and dignity they deserve. I was fortunate to receive a tour of Mountain Ridge today, hearing the concerns of residents and staff alike and how we can work together to address them. They were incredibly warm and welcoming, and I can’t wait to visit again!

I’m so happy with how the first summer of Live Free & Lead went and can’t believe it’s already over! For me, this project is all about giving back and empowering the next generation to get involved in their communities and government, and I’m so pleased to see our students taking charge.
Public service isn’t merely the votes you cast or the speeches you make, but the impact you leave outside the chamber, and it’s been nothing but a privilege to work with these students. I’m also incredibly grateful to my amazing program co-directors and friends, Andrew King and Casey Peters, who helped me develop Live Free & Lead into what it became and assisted in running the program and facilitating discussion. This was truly a spectacular summer of public service, and I look forward to continuing the program for years to come!

To conclude our conversations on state-federal relations, we heard from U.S. Department of Education Assistant Secretary Murray Bessette on the role of the federal executive! He discussed his duties at the Department of Education and the delicate, critical balance between federal, state, and local governance.

Thank you to Easterseals NH for hosting an excellent groundbreaking ceremony for Phase II of the Franklin Military and Veterans Campus! This facility is a massive benefit to our community and the veterans of New Hampshire as a whole. I’m proud to support it and was happy to celebrate the beginning of the next stage of its growth with our neighbors!
