We apologize for the late notice.... The good news is that the Water Street project is nearing completion! However, the pavement is being sealed today and it is being requested that there is no traffic on it overnight while it cures. We appreciate everyone's patience during this project and apologize for any inconvenience this project has caused. For any questions, please reach out to [email protected].

Please join us for the Annual Strides for Safety S.A.D.D. Run at Oneonta High School.
The more representation we have from Franklin at the run, the more comes back to the school to help support the After Prom Party held at Clark's Sports Center in Cooperstown!!
Walk or Run it all helps!
Thank you for your support of the FCS S.A.D.D. club.

Reminder that lower Water Street is now an active construction zone. That section is closed, except for residents of the street. At this time, there is no access to trails for off road vehicles from Water Street.

After years of discussing and planning, the Water Street project is set to begin! Each year, water erodes the lower end of Water Street and a solution needed to be found. For the past 2 years, we have been working with an engineer for a solution and discussing/planning at most board meetings. We are happy to share that NY State does offer municipalities funds for road specific projects and the amount that Franklin has available will fully fund the project.

While there will be a disruption on that portion of Water Street (Center Street to turn around) for 2 to 3 weeks, we are confident that this will not only fix the damage that is exists but also prevent future damage. We appreciate everyone's patience during this project. Water Street will be closed except to residents during the duration of the project. If there are any questions regarding this project, please reach out to [email protected].

As we are all preparing for this snowstorm, we wanted to share a few reminders and information.
If we receive the snowfall amounts predicted, it will be difficult to keep sidewalks and streets completely clear. To aide us in keeping roads as clear as we can, there is no on street parking on Village streets.

The Village will be plowing during the storm but are unable to plow 24/7, we ask for patience while we clean up from this storm. Please have patience with each other as we all clear our sidewalks as well.

In the event of a prolonged power outage, the Franklin Fire & Rescue is prepared to open as a warming and charging station. They have facilities to warm food and will have coffee on! Thank you to the Franklin Fire Department for looking out for the community in so many ways! We will share this information in the event that a warming station is needed.

Please share updates with neighbors that may not be on social media. I will share information very soon about the mass communication system that's been implemented and how residents can sign up.

Stay safe, stay warm
