The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has lost three brave men in the line of duty. Their sacrifice and dedication to protecting the citizens of Johnson County will never be forgotten.

Deputy Sheriff Timothy J. Guyer

End of Watch: August 1, 2023
Deputy Guyer suffered a fatal heart attack following mandatory physical training while attending the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield, Indiana.

Deputy Tracy Lee Miles

End of Watch: May 28, 1999
Reserve Deputy Miles was struck and killed by a vehicle while checking on an abandoned vehicle along Interstate 65.

Deputy Ova Earl Vaughn

End of Watch: June 28, 1938
Deputy Vaughn gave his life in the line of duty serving the citizens of Johnson County.

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and Ride Safe Indiana are recognizing Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month by urging both riders and motorists to make safety a priority as riding season begins.

We are currently working on the rest of this year’s shirt design, and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with what we have planned.

Be sure to mark your calendars and save the date: Saturday, September 12, 2026.

We are also finalizing the start and end locations, along with several stops in between. Each year, we strive to make this ride special, and it’s a weekend I personally look forward to.

It’s always great to reconnect with the people who have supported and made this ride possible for so many years.
