The Franklin Noon Rotary will be selling Pork Butts for your Super Bowl Party!

The Franklin Noon Rotary Club is offering a “Buy One, Give One” program. This program through the Franklin BBQ Society fed over 5,000 people in the community last year with the Butt’s that were given to those in need! One Butt can feed 18-20 people! Our goal is to give at least 250 Butts to those in need! It is an opportunity for us to make a major impact in the lives of the homeless, shut-in and needy in our community. Thank you for support!

Each Butt is $50 each and all proceeds go to the Franklin Noon Rotary Foundation which supports charities in our community!

Order deadline is February 3rd. Orders will be available for pick up on Saturday, Feb. 11th from 11 A.M -1 P.M. at the Downtown Franklin office of the Williamson Herald, 1117 Columbia Ave, Franklin

There's is no cell service in Terrebonne Parish. Since I can't update twitter, here's the latest info about what's happening here:

Priorities in Terrebonne: (in this order) Electricity, water, pollution control (sewer system), communications, transportation

Food Distribution: As of now the food bank is working to get operational. Food is expected to come in soon but distributing is no happening right now.

Floodgates and Levees: Levees held up and no reported problems. The Bubba Dove Floodgate and one smaller one had a few issues during the storm but remained operations and held up. All will be inspected in the coming days.

Water: The main water plant in Schriever has a broken chlorine line so the entire parish is without water There are millions of gallons of water available but there’s no way to get that water to people.

Hospitals: Terrebonne General and Chabert Medical Center are either without water or barley have any. Parish is working to get Houma water plant up and running to be used as a priority for the hospitals.

Evacuees: There has been NO decision on when evacuees can return to Terrebonne Parish. That decision will be made later and will be done a priority basis. Business will be allowed back first. Checkpoints will be set up by national guard and officers.

Debris clearing: State is currently working to clear state highways. Parish crews are doing the same.

Electricity: Three service providers in Terrebonne Parish. Entergy, SLECA and City of Houma. All are currently down. The City of Houma utility had the roof blown off so they can’t operate right now. Out of town power crews are expected to get here tomorrow to help restore power.

Rescues: 40 people had to be picked up by the sheriff’s office last night and brought to an emergency shelter. They were all out on the curb because their homes are unlivable.
-Also, two people were found alive, trapped in a collapsed building in Houma.

Search and rescue crews from Texas are here, deploying to areas in the southern part of the parish.

At this point there are no reports of people needing rescue, but also, community is spotty at best so crews are going out assessing areas.

I’m told this could take weeks before the Parish is up and running again.
