The JCPO is proud to stand with and support victims of s*xual assault. Those victims are both women and men, and the violence against them is committed both physically as well as virtually on-line. If you have been a victim of s*xual assault or know someone who has, please reach out and get help. There are many resources out there, including ASSIST Indiana located right here in Franklin, who are available to help. Today our office dressed in denim to honor and support a young female who was s*xually assaulted in Italy in 1992 by her driving instructor. His r**e conviction was overturned by the Italian Supreme Court. It found that because her pants were so tight, she had to have helped him remove them, thereby making the s*x consensual and not r**e. Denim Day is a continued protest to that decision.

A busy weekend this past weekend for many in the JCPO. Friday night was a packed house for the annual GOP Lincoln Day Dinner, and then a 5K race in Center Grove Saturday morning. Among many of the organizations supported, we helped out ASSIST Indiana which is located in Franklin and helps those impacted by physical or s*xual abuse.
