Starting on June 26th BFCCPS students will have a booth at the Franklin Farmer's Market on Fridays from 2-6 pm to promote their Capstone Projects. We thank the management of the Farmer's Market for providing our students with this incredible opportunity to promote their projects and represent BFCCPS in our local community!

Each year we are incredibly proud of the variety and quality of the projects our students produce through Capstone each year. Through this project our students illustrate that young people can make an impact on their school, community and world.

Already we see projects supporting The Santa Foundation, Rhode Island Cat Sanctuary, the importance of preventing the spread of greenhouse gases, the Red Cross and Boston Children's Hospital. As students secure approvals to book the BFCCPS table you'll find them added to the Community Service Calendar. We hope you'll stop by on Fridays throughout the summer to enjoy the market and meet with our students!

In Seventh and Eighth Grade French, we aim for all students to learn how to communicate effectively and confidently in the four language skills: speaking, writing, reading and listening. Each unit focuses on a set of communication goals. Grammar and vocabulary lessons are redesigned to help students achieve those goals. Students continue to learn about French history and culture through songs, stories, biography and French films. French classes are conducted, as much as possible, in the target language so students can be immersed in the language.

Our Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth grade students are encouraged to take part in Le Grand Concours, a national French contest organized by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF). This test consists of 70-questions (listening and written) and is one-hour long.

Congratulations to this year's Bronze, Silver and Gold Medalists in Grade Eight!

We are proud to recognize a student whose artistic talent, dedication, and vision have earned her a prestigious Gold Key Scholastic Art Award.

This honor reflects not only her exceptional technical skill and mastery of her craft, but also her ability to create art that is deeply personal and meaningful. Through her work, she invites viewers into her perspective, creating connections that transcend words and remind us of our shared human experiences.

As artist and author Thomas Merton once said, “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” Her artwork exemplifies this idea, drawing people in through its authenticity, creativity, and emotional resonance.

Please join me in congratulating Lillian Zhou on this outstanding achievement!

Students in the Junior Choir (Grades 5 & 6) participated in a special field trip today to the Benchmark Senior Living Community in Forge Hill. The students brought handmade cards they had made during a rehearsal to the residents and also prepared musical entertainment for the morning.
