🗓️ Reminder: All Franklin Community Schools and offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, for Labor Day!

It takes a whole village to help our students thrive. While we are highlighting our fantastic maintenance and grounds crew in this photo, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to every single member of our staff.

From the bus drivers who start our mornings safely, to the cafeteria teams who feed our kids, the teachers and assistants who inspire in the classrooms, the office staff who keep us organized, and the crews who care for our buildings, thank you. Your hard work makes our schools a wonderful place to learn. Have a safe and restful long weekend!

📰 Our middle school journalists are making a national name for themselves!

The talented students behind Paw Post and CNN earned multiple national rankings and honors from the Journalism Education Association and Ball State Media School this year, competing against student journalists from across the country.

From news and feature writing to video production and PSAs, these students are researching, creating, and telling stories that deserve to be heard. And they’re doing it at the middle school level! 👏

Congratulations to all of our student journalists and to their adviser, Katy Hollis, for creating opportunities for students to find their voice, hone their craft, and strive for excellence. 🐾📰

📚☀️ Reading, growing and flying all summer long!

We’re proud to celebrate our own Grace Kriech, who spent her summer helping bring the joy of reading to local kids through Wild Geese Bookstore’s Porch Picnic Storytime!

Each Tuesday, Grace selected and read a story paired with the Artcraft’s Summer Break Movie Series, with each child receiving a snack, a drink and, most importantly, a book of their very own! 📖❤️

Through the Read, Grow, Fly Foundation and a grant from JCREMC, the program helped keep kids connected to books all summer long, with leftover books also shared with FCS summer school and other local youth programs.

We love seeing our teachers making a difference both inside and outside the classroom! 🐾
