Student voice matters! 🔊

At the May School Board meeting, members of the Superintendent Student Taskforce were recognized for their leadership and commitment to making our schools even better.

Made up of students in grades 7-12, this group meets quarterly with Dr. Clendening to share what school looks like through the lens of a student. Through meaningful conversations about important school topics, they provide valuable feedback, suggest new ideas, and help identify ways to improve the student experience.

The Superintendent Student Taskforce gives students a seat at the table, allowing them to collaborate with fellow student leaders and help shape the future of our school community. Thank you to these outstanding students for sharing their perspectives and helping make a positive impact across our district!

Please be aware that the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department will be conducting a series of training exercises at Union Elementary from June 3–12. During this time, community members may notice an increased presence of police and first responder vehicles in the school parking lot and surrounding areas.

These are planned training activities only, and there is no cause for concern. Thank you!

Caught being GREAT! 🐻✨

This year, the FCHS Deans launched a new initiative to recognize students who make our school a better place through kindness, respect, leadership, and positive citizenship. When teachers “caught” students doing something good, they sent them to the Dean’s Office with a special ticket.

More than 80 students were nominated, and this morning we celebrated by drawing four Great Grizzlies winners ~

Congratulations to all of our nominees for helping create a positive culture at FCHS each and every day.

A special thank you to the FCHS Student Council for helping provide these amazing prizes and supporting this celebration of student citizenship! 👏
