Simpson Co. 4-H last day at the State Fair was Expressive Arts Day. The ShamROCKS 4-H Vocal Group took a club field trip to perform and see the fair. Liam gave his double winning country ham speech - he won the State 4-H Talk Meet & the State Country Ham Speech Contest. Halle won Songwriting in the State 4-H Written Communications Contests - she performed the song she wrote while Adairlyn accompanied her on the piano. It was a great way to end the state fair!

Day four of the State Fair was Entrepreneurship Day where 4-H vendors from across the state set up. Catherine’s daughter Nealey, a Warren Co. 4-H member, was on hand with her Resin Creations business. There was also an entrepreneurship in-service for agents. Coming this Fall to Simpson Co. 4-H will be the opportunity for members to participate in a new county 4-H entrepreneurship program that can lead youth to starting their own business! Catherine also snapped some photos of just a few of our members blue ribbon & champion state fair entries.

Cloverville hosted a Healthy Living Day at the State Fair with educational and interactive exhibits on current 4-H Health Programs. Catherine leads the 4-H Health Rocks Drug Education & Prevention program for 6th grade in Simpson Co., where she trains high school 4-H teens to serve as the teachers & mentors to some 200 6th graders throughout the school year. Her exhibit included facts on drug use in our area and highlighted Simpson Co. unique program that serves as a model for other counties across the state.
