Franklin High School hosted the FBLA Western Region Leadership Conference with a little over 200 in total tattendance. We are thankful all could attend this year after the devastation of Hurricane Helene last year.

Thank you to all who attended, all the judges that volunteered their time, workshop presenters, custodians, administrators, faculty, and all the others that contributed to the success of this conference. I appreciate Shannon McConnell and all the help with coordinating judges and scoring verifications.

A special thank to Quincy Sherrill NCFBLA Northwest VP for helping our Western Region VP, Mark VanHook with our RLC activities, it was great having you in Franklin!

November 24th Franklin High School FBLA will be hosting the NCFBLA Western Region Leadership Conference at Franklin High School. We need around 21 judges and we need your help. If you want be part of of a successful program and be blown away by the tallent and professionalism of these soon to be young adults then come join us! Judging is so rewarding and as an added incentive, we will feed you an amazing breakfast from Smokestack!!! Your day will start around 8:15 and you will wrap up your judging duties by noon. Signing up is easy, just scan the QR code and fill out the Google Form and we will get in touch with you with all the details. We look forward to seeing your there and thank you in advance!

Franklin High School FBLA will be hosting the Western Region Leadership Conference on Franklin High School’s campus Monday, November 25th. We are asking for business or individual sponsors to cover the cost of the conference which runs around $3500. Our neighboring counties were devastated by Hurricane Helene and have not been in school to do the normal fundraising. We are hoping to raise enough money to cover the overhead costs of the regional conference. If we raise more than our cost goal, we will divide the money evenly between those counties that were greatly affected to go toward the state leadership conference in March. If you sponsor we will recognize you at the conference, social media, newspaper, and if you are a silver sponsor or greater, your name will be put on the back of our FHS FBLA Western Region shirts to advertise for you all year. Today we promoted FBLA and our business classes during lunch. I have awesome classes with awesome kids and of course my FHS FBLA group is fabulous. Hard to believe my baby is. sophomore! Highlight of the lunch period was making Officer Mace a tee shirt of his wonderful K-9 Thor!

What a treat to be in Franklin this week, when the neighboring Franklin High School Future Business Leaders of America came by to say hello, take a few pictures, and invite me to come speak at their school.

Of course, I happily accepted. Can’t wait to get back to Franklin!

FHS FBLA enjoyed continuing their Teen Tech community service project for the senior citizens at the Crawford Senior Center today. Congressman Chuck Edwards was there talking with Franklin residents and he took the time to meet with our FBLA group and take a few pictures. After the pictures he chatted with our group for a bit. He was a very nice gentleman and it was our pleasure to meet him.

We are needing volunteers for our NC Future Business Leaders of America Western Region Conference on Friday, December 2. It is being held at Haywood Community College. Judges need to report at 8 AM and should be done sometime after lunch. We provide breakfast and lunch for the day. Share and post please!
