A-Shift beat the heat this morning with some rope rescue training at our training facility.

Crews worked through rope systems and rescue techniques before the temperatures climbed for the day.

A good reminder to stay hydrated!

Several Days of Dangerous Heat Ahead

A prolonged stretch of hot and humid weather is expected across central Indiana this week, with heat index values expected to climb well above 100 degrees.

If you spend time outdoors this week:

☀️ Drink plenty of water—even if you don’t feel thirsty.
☀️ Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
☀️ Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
☀️ Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
☀️ Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone without reliable air conditioning.
☀️ Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and don’t wait to seek help if someone becomes ill.

Whether you’re working outside, exercising, attending ball games, or getting ready for the Fourth of July holiday, take the heat seriously and plan accordingly.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and look out for one another.

Yesterday, two of our EMS Duty Officers represented the Bargersville Community Fire Department at the Franciscan Health EMS Education Career Fair.

They had the opportunity to meet with students preparing to enter the EMS profession, answer questions, and talk about careers in emergency services.

Thank you to Franciscan Health for the invitation and for bringing together students and public safety agencies from across Indiana.
