On June 13, 2026, the Franklin Division of Police Communications Center was notified by the Middletown Division of Police that a recently stolen vehicle was stationary near Wells Bridge Drive.

The vehicle was located in the parking lot of the Speedway gas station at 1295 East Second Street. The vehicle was positioned facing north at the easternmost fuel pump. As Franklin officers arrived on scene, the vehicle immediately fled the area.

Franklin officers initiated a pursuit eastbound on East Second Street. The vehicle continued east on State Route 73 before turning north onto State Route 48. Due to the driver's actions, which included operating the vehicle in oncoming lanes of travel and creating a substantial risk to public safety, the pursuit was terminated in the area of Social Row Road.

While officers were returning to the City of Franklin, the Centerville Police Department advised that the vehicle had been located overturned in front of Archer's Tavern. The sole occupant exited the vehicle and was treated by emergency medical personnel before being transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Information necessary to complete the investigation was obtained, and charges will be filed through the Franklin Municipal Court against Camren Brumett of Middletown Ohio for Failure to Comply and Receiving Stolen Property, both felonies.

On May 27, 2026, at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers from the Franklin Division of Police responded to assist the Clearcreek Township Police Department, Springboro Police Department, and Warren County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop involving a wanted and suicidal male on SR 73 near Country Brook Court.

Prior to the stop, Springboro Police had issued a BOLO regarding the driver after concerns were raised involving indirect suicidal threats. Officers had also removed multiple fi****ms from the residence prior to the encounter.

During the incident, the male refused repeated commands to exit the vehicle. Officers from multiple agencies utilized de-escalation techniques, coordinated communication, shields, less-lethal options, and PepperBall deployment in an effort to safely resolve the situation while minimizing risk to everyone involved.

After continued verbal announcements and the deployment of less-lethal munitions and PepperBall rounds, the driver eventually exited the vehicle approximately 90 seconds after the final deployment and surrendered peacefully with his hands raised.

The male was safely taken into custody without serious injury to the suspect or officers involved.

This incident highlights the professionalism, teamwork, restraint, and coordinated response between the Franklin Division of Police, Clearcreek Township Police Department, Springboro Police Department, and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office during a high-risk mental health crisis situation.

Today, while many spent time with family and friends, members of the Franklin Division of Police proudly served our community by providing traffic control and ensuring the safety of those attending the City of Franklin Memorial Day Parade.

Our Honor Guard members had the privilege of participating in the ceremonial folding of the American flag, while Officer Larry Beasley honored our fallen by reading the history and names of Franklin citizens who gave their lives in service to our nation dating back to the Revolutionary War.

Officer Beasley is a veteran law enforcement professional with nine years of service between the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin Division of Police, combined with 11 years of Active Duty Army service as an 11C Indirect Fire Infantryman. He completed four combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and is a decorated combat veteran, receiving both the Combat Infantryman Badge and Purple Heart for wounds sustained during combat operations in Iraq. He also earned Airborne and Air Assault qualifications during his military service.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

On this Memorial Day, the Franklin Division of Police joins our community in remembering our fallen heroes and expressing gratitude to the families they left behind.

As a reminder, flags should be flown at half-staff until noon, then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day.

We will never forget their sacrifice. 🇺🇸
