At 03:49 hrs the Franklin Square & Munson FD responded to this accident with multiple aided and fuel spill from the fuel pumps at the intersection of Hempstead Tpke and Herman Blvd. Use caution in the area while the investigation is in progress and the clean up of the area begins.

Today, we held the annual installation of officers for our Junior Firefighters, Daniel Petruzzo was sworn in as the Captain.

Lead Advisor Ex-Chief Joseph Pallisco presented various citations and awards to The Juniors and Advisors for all their hard work and accomplishments this past year.

The community is asked to use caution at Pacific Ave & Holzheimer St. Due to high winds this evening the Giglio structure for the upcoming feast was knocked over and was blocking the roadway. We responded and dismantled the structure and opened the road up. The Town of Hempstead responded and will be making repairs to the damaged light pole.

Today our Junior Firefighters participated in community event with various community organizations to decorate the town with American Flags for Flag Day.

Flags & Bows were placed on lamp posts on Hempstead Tpke, Nassau Blvd., Franklin Ave., New Hyde Park Rd., and Dogwood Ave.

Today we held a ceremony at headquarters where Engine Co. 2 presented the annual Ex-Chief John “Jack” Schilt Memorial Scholarship.

This Scholarship is awarded to a High School Senior who is either a current member or a child, sibling, or grandchild related to a member of our Department that has demonstrated commitment to serving their community and academic achievement with recommendations from their teachers and guidance counselor.

The members of Engine Co. 2 presented  the 2026 John “Jack” Schilt Memorial Scholarship to Gianna Labianca.

Daughter of Ex-Chief Dominick K. Labianca, and brother of firefighter Dominick J. Labianca.
