Leyden Township

Leyden Township Leyden Township is one of 29 townships in Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2020 census, our population was 93,096 and contained 35,824 housing units.

The Town of Leyden (Leyden Township) was established on April 2, 1850. It includes the Villages of Elmwood Park, River Grove, Franklin Park, Schiller Park and portions of the Villages of Bensenville, Rosemont, Melrose Park, Norridge and the Cities of Northlake and Park Ridge. Also included in Leyden Township is a large unincorporated area. The unincorporated area utilizes the Melrose Park Postal S

ervice and uses the Northlake zip code of 60164. The Leyden Fire Protection District and the Cook County Sheriff's Police protect the unincorporated area. Our office staff is here to serve the many needs of our residents. Whether the resident needs property tax information, senior services or one of the other numerous services we offer, our knowledgeable staff is ready to help Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
