Franklin Lakes Public Schools

Franklin Lakes Public Schools The Franklin Lakes Public Schools serve children in Pre-K through Grade Eight. Franklin Lakes is a full service community, appealing to residents of all ages.

Located in the northwest section of Bergen County, New Jersey and in close proximity to New York City, the community of Franklin Lakes is home to nearly 10,500 residents. Our public schools educate approximately 1,450 students in three neighborhood elementary schools (Grades PreK-5) and one centrally located middle school (Grades 6-8). Franklin Lakes students attend the Ramapo Indian Hills Regiona

l High School District. These comprehensive regional high schools receive students from Franklin Lakes, Oakland, and Wyckoff. The Franklin Lakes Board of Education employs nearly 245 professionals, paraprofessionals, and support staff of whom approximately 185 are teachers. All the schools reflect the values of the community and its regard for teaching and learning. There is thoughtful balance among academics, character, and culture. In addition to the more conventional aspects of learning, students are exposed to strong character education programs that encourage them to act respectfully toward friends, family, and school personnel. Students are challenged to behave responsibly join the caring majority.
